Freemix - Social Media Evolved

Freemix gives you multi-dimensional control over your content and the mix of content you see from others, freeing you from the posts-on-a-timeline paradigm of other sites. Share information how you want and filter your newsfeed to show only the post types and topics that interest you.

Post anything – links, articles, pictures, videos, audio, albums, folders, documents – organized how you like, by date, subject, tags, importance, or other criteria. Arrange your content how you like, on a timeline, a web page, a wiki, or a custom template.

Posts can be made visible to everyone (even users who don't have an account) or only to friends, family and/or groups. You decide who can interact, comment, share, and collaborate with your content.

Customizable tags enable users to filter what they see based on topic and content type. This enables for example a user's photography friends to see photos and event posts but not be distracted with computer programming posts or cat memes.

Objects support moving along, images upload & validation completed

I've been implementing support for a wide range of post attachment types, including the WEBP image format which required setting up a new server with the latest Linux and software packages. I'm doing the development in the best way possible, in this case requiring full validation and optimization of all possible file upload types. Testing revealed that the webp image format is far superior to jpg, gif and png in space efficiency and overall quality, yielding file sizes typically 40-80% smaller without the typical jpg and gif artifacts.
